So, did they not just elect a democrat to the senate? Trump probably wins it, but acting like Arizona is ruby red is stupid

I mean they just elected a democrat to the senate in the special election last year...and now there's a very real possibility that they elect another democrat to the senate this year.

Did Sienema not run as a centrist against a goddamn horrible GOP candidate?

Same one, in fact, who is in danger of losing the special election to hold her seat?

God, McSally is the shittiest GOP candidate in years.

Mark Kelly

Note: I taught Astronaut Kelly the Fundamentals of On-Orbit Maintenance on the ISS class at Building 9 at Johnson Space Center in 1999.
I checked my notes... he was a great student, and interesting to talk to.

Mark, if you are reading this... open your eyes, friend!! You are an astronaut, and if you cannot see how DERANGED being a Democrat is?? C'mon man!!

McSally is going to lose both Senate seats to democrats in consecutive elections.

I don’t think anyone has ever done trust.

Off the top of my head, John James is likely to do that this year as well.

Seats the candidate’s party held.

Did the Republicans hold either Michigan seat James ran for?

I wasn't aware that was a stipulation. I'd argue Flake was hardly a Republican who held that seat to 2018, anyway.

Texas he’s 100% not losing. Florida will always be close but I feel very confident about it. Arizona might be a nail biter, but I think he wins it in a fair election

Arizona will go red this year but let's not kid ourselves: Arizona, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina are quickly heading in the blue direction.

The GOP didn’t hold either of those MI seats, and James is not the incumbent.

Not the same. In order to “lose the seat”, one or one’s party must actually hold the seat.

I really don't understand why she has such a bad reputation. She was one of the future stars when she first got elected in a very tough Tucson area district. She has been reliably conservative. She is rated by most sites as one of the most productive members of the Senate in terms of bills introduced and passed in their first term. I follow her social media and she is out in the community, walking door to door campaigning and making appearances every day, but it doesn't seem to get her any traction. Sinema beat her after some shady stuff with mail-in ballots. She was ahead on election day but lost as a huge percent of the "mail in" went to Sinema. Her opponent has major issues with China just like Biden but that hasn't seemed to hurt him either. There are obviously people still butt hurt that she beat the tea party lady in the primary. Trump needs to make some more appearances there and maybe he can pull her over the fence.

I don't know about the other states, but Arizona hasn't changed nearly as much as a lot of national pundits suggest. The state has always been far more centrist than its reputation, and if centrist isn't the right word, independent is. Everybody thinks Goldwater when they think of Arizona, but in reality the state has elected more Dems for the senate than Reps, and our recent "stalwart Republican" in the senate, McCain, was hardly a Righty.
