Figured I'd post this on here rather than the OT, but I haven't been following the rest of the world, but are other countries acting like gigantic pussies like in America? Are they obsessed with social distancing, trying to make everyone get vaccines, mandatory masks wearing, etc. like these hypocritical scumbag politicians in America are?

I always say to myself I can't imagine a country that's showing worse leadership and decision making during this "pandemic" than this country is showing, but I'm sure there is. Either way, "land of the free and home of the brave" my arse. There's no freedom in this country anymore. Not even close.

From what I've been able to glean, we're relatively free compared to most of the first world, as scary as that is. I'm sure people don't give a frick at all in the less developed areas.

Even parts of South America. Recently read an expat's account of the Chilean response and it seemed absolutely fricking bonkers.

That's what I was told, but I didn't know the specifics or to what extent.

Either way it's been well over a year. The numbers don't justify shutting down, wearing worthless masks, etc.

In many other countries the cops can legally barge into your house if you’re not following Covid protocols. In many countries they’ll fine you for being outside or even spitting on the ground. Of course China probably had soldiers patrolling the streets and sealed people into their homes.

So yeah the US isn’t nearly as bad in that regard

I try to follow international news a bit. From what I’ve seen, many places are far more restrictive than most of the USA. NY and surrounding states p, the rest belt and California seem to have tried their best to imitate European countries.

Australia and NZ are crazy restricted.

Educated guess - the level of COVID restrictions is inversely proportional to the level of freedom enjoyed by citizenry pre-COVID.

Australia had the military patrolling cities to prevent people from leaving.
