I think the average ACT score at Southern is 17.
I’m surprised it’s that high TBH.

We dont need people with 10s on the ACT going to college
That reminds me of what Georgetown did back in the day. They lowered requirements to get Patrick Ewing and other basketball players into the school. A young man I knew was there right after it happened. He said he was walking to his dorm room carrying 5 books from the library for a research paper. A basketball player passed by him and said: 'You gonna read all dem books?'
Friend: 'Yes, I am.'
Player: 'I ain't read dat many books in mah life!'
Friend: 'Sir, I totally believe you.'

Underperforming universities should all be shut down, or at a minimum lose any federal funding. That would be about 95 percent of HBCUs.

Seems like they are just an echo chamber for radical ideology and victim mentality to grow.
Just like most colleges.., HBCUs aren’t segregated

I don't hear much from Valley or Alcorn graduates but JSU certainly puts out some doozies. `
Main thing I’ve heard about MVSU is that the head trainer there couldn’t get any staff to work for him there because there weren’t any quality grad programs to attract people, as free or reduced cost schooling is a benefit of working at universities.
Haven’t heard anything else with regards to undergrad quality of education.
JSU? Their reputation is Just Show Up.

Anyone else find it hilarious that white people get “minority scholarships” to attend some HBCUs like Morehouse?

Wasn't the nursing program at either Tech or ULM moved over to Gambling to make their numbers look better?

Apparently OM professors like to use that on any school in Mississippi besides theirs.
USM isn’t Harvard but it has actual standards unlike JSU and it still gets those jokes.

They're a problem because when there was segregation, they were actually institutions of learning/knowledge because a lot of very smart black students went there and demanded it.
Once those smart black students could go to the "white" schools, that (for the most part) left the flotsam of students and they have suffered since. The only way they have remained in business is to become havens for radical racialist thought.

At Pepsi we had a stint where we recruited at Howard, etc. It was a nightmare and eventually stopped.
I had to work with some, they have a major in racial discrimination and a minor in business. Walking around taking personal notes, the VP of HR calling them to ask how things were going. Net result no one wanted to be around them for fear they would say something to HR and boy did they.
Here is a few examples I had to listen to with our "roundtables on diversity". One of the supervisors called one of the grads "boy". Upon investigation turns out a supervisor said "You boys need to go make that delivery". And he was speaking to two white men and the graduate.
Another, "They treat me differently and make fun of me simply because I want to dress for success". Pepsi required that, as a supervisor, he had to work on a route truck with a driver once per week, making deliveries. He would show up in a suit with a briefcase and do paperwork while he watched the driver sweating his arse off making deliveries.

We had a small 2 year school with 4 year programs that outperformed all of the programs at HBCU across the river. Literally in the middle of the night the Georgia Board of Regents made the two schools merge as one of course the HBCU remained between the two. There was a mass exodus before the fall semester began. Black students were even against it. “If I wanted to go to Albany State, I would have enrolled there”. It’s one of the worst universities from the administration to academics. I have nothing positive to say about it

I’ve worked with a defense contractor that had an office filled with HBCU engineer grads, all doing admin work because they couldn’t do the engineering.

4 or 5 of my sons white friends attended an HBCU on scholarships. For the baseball team.

Not all HBCUs are the same. Southern U. is a terrible school. Howard University is a better school than LSU in the rankings.

It's optional segregation, just leave them be.
