Which government?

The Chinese government seems to have a pretty good handle on them as it is.

Media drumbeats for everyone's rights to be taken. Media shocked that their rights are included in "everyone".

Dumb.

Well at least they aren’t calling it “free” press anymore.

This is rich coming from the people who are trying to silence differing opinions because THEY believe it is false.

I liked AOC better when everybody thought she was just a simpleton with a nice rack. She's still a simpleton, but the Left has anointed her as a spokesman for the great unwashed (and that group is legion).

There is an element of governmental regulation that I support although it’s probably unconstitutional

Back in the late 80’s there was a balanced reporting regulation that I think was very helpful for people to get straight news and kept the media from being biased echo chambers

We had shows like crossfire, hannity and colmes, point counter point and it gave the viewer a rounded news experience.

The problem is that it isn’t as lucrative for the networks who thrive on division. They’d rather have a bias in their reporting because people tend to want to hear what they already believe rather than be challenged.

I wish they’d bring back at least some form of that.

Socialism is like healthcare. You have to vote it in to see what's in it. You won't know if you'll like it until you try it.

They are all paid performers. They say what they're told to say. None of them believe this crap. They are just looking to make as much as they can off of it.

basically they are applying their 2nd Amendment logic to the 1st Amendment

It goes like this:

-the 2nd Amendment meant basic arms available at the time the Bill of Rights was enacted. Swords, bows, flint lock firearms, etc., with which a user could only kill a few and only in his immediate vicinity. But since technological advancements now allow for a user to kill many at a long range, we have to control that technology and keep it away from common use.

so,

-the 1st Amendment meant basic communication technology at the time of the Bill of Rights too. Handbills, Newspapers, letters, books, shouting in the town square. This made ideas slow to get our and only to limited audiences. But new technology allows a single person to communicate instantly around the globe. Dangerous ideas can travel at lighting speed to millions or billions so we have to control that technology as well.

That was the Fairness Doctrine which was repealed in 1987.

I hear AOC was proud to finish a puzzle in one day because the box had 2-4 years on it.
