The funds raised by the progressive lawmaker will go toward 12 food banks and relief organizations, including the Bridge Homeless Recovery Center, Ending Community Homelessness Coalition, Family Eldercare, Feeding Texas and the Houston Food Bank, according to the donations page.
Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has come under fire for vacationing with his family in Cancún, Mexico, amid the crisis

I’m such a cynic when it comes to politics, I feel that if the political blame game wasn’t in play, we wouldn’t be seeing this outpouring of help from AOC and the like. And maybe I’m jaded since I live in Lake Charles where people were out of power for weeks and some without water for almost as long after Laura and the entire event was an afterthought in a day or two or the rest of the country. There are still people living in tents in Lake Charles.

So she’s acknowledging private charity is better than government programs of redistribution?

Why can’t any of you give her credit for stepping up? If you want to hate her politics then go ahead but she was there for the people of a state half a country away, a red state, when their own senator bailed and headed for warmer climes.
Haters gonna hate i guess.

She did it just to get credit, which your post so aptly proves.

Please copy and paste your post of when you were outraged at Austin major ordering everyone to stay home due to covid pandemic and then leaving for Cabo. Or when Gov Newsom of CA ordered everyone to stay home and then had lavish dinner in Napa with large group of people and no masks. Or Denver Mayor, etc.
I'll wait.. Please I know you aren't a hypocrite right?
