It was on Tommy tuckers show, who I dispise and he was all but saying in his questions please tell us why this is all Republicans fault and JBE was more than happy to oblige.
JBE also was spouting off how awesome it is in Louisiana right now and we're going in the right direction so we shouldn't screw it up with this shortfall.
Journalism is dead.

That was a terrible "interview" that should have been conducted by Newell Normand

Tommy Tucker is a Bridge-Troll. He flip-flops so often during a conversation. But then again, that's playing Devil's Advocate...so maybe he is smarter than we think.

I'm not a Tommy Tucker fan by any means, but Scoot is fricking awful. Newell Normand is the only person on WWL Radio that's worth listening to.

Of course, Tommy Tucker also has a love fest with John Kennedy when he is on the show, and Jim Donelon, etc etc
Anyone who thinks that show is "journalism" is a tad mistaken. It's a morning talk show. And TT is just a massive butt kisser.
The Republicans control the House. They could not get a bill out of the House. It is their fault. If they would have gotten a bill out, and it failed in the Senate, or JBE vetoed it, that would be one thing.

Except for Bobby & Deke, I just turn them off. Gathering of Liberal Mutual Admiration Club.

Not all "republicans" are created equal. In Louisiana, there's enough R's who only switched teams in the last 10 years (without switching their politics) to derail most anything. These are the "solid conservatives" like Alario, who is essentially the Governor's bag man.
The conservative faction of the party ensured no new tax increases. The Black caucus scuttled the tax that was proposed for not being taxing enough, so the plan failed.
I would say conservatism won. That means in the regular session, we might actually get some spending cuts.

I'd love for that idiot to explain exactly what is going so good with our state right now.

You are assuming we pass a budget in the regular.
I think we will spend most of the regular session pissing about on red-meat issues, I'm sure there will be a lot of talk about guns, and while we may have hearings on a budget, we won't pass one. Then we will have a special session where we will increase taxes, cut spending, and pass a budget.
And you are right... not all Repubs are equal especially here. But they all share the same tag, so the good pay for the bad.

Because we have the open primary system, the state GOP has no vetting mechanism for people calling themselves "republicans". They can't excommunicate them from the party. Literally anyone who can qualify to run in an election can register as whatever they want and run representing whatever party they want and the one with most votes wins. The party under Villere was hesitant to call these people out, but there's a new state party chairman now. Most of the turncoats that masquerade as republican are term limited and will be out of the legislature at the same time JBE is up for re-election.
They won't be able to pretend anymore. The party isn't going to provide them cover any more.
