If McConnell wants the republicans to stay in power he will make sure the confirmation is before the midterms. It’s almost a lock that Kavanaugh will be confirmed if it’s before the midterms.

The Senate is hardly loyal to Trump. They’re big time concerned about keep control of the courts. They’ll all let Trump fall in favor of Pence, but he’s getting confirmed no matter what.

If the Dems get the House, I guess it's not beyond the realm of possibility that enough Republicans voted to throw Trump out and go with Pence in the Oval Office.
