“teachers looked at their AP enrollment and realized black and brown kids were not there,” according to Quoc Tran, the superintendent of 6,900-student Culver City Unified School District, the Wall Street Journal reports.
“They felt obligated to do something,” Tran added.
The something you're obligated to do is to lift up and get the ones you think should be there. Work harder. Get the kids to work harder.
This is the whole reason socialism and communism do not work.
When everything has to be equal outcomes, it is just so much easier to take the route of dumbing down everyone, instead of trying to lift up those that lag behind

Why not add an honors class for Black & Brown students?
Already have those, but you know them by a different name: remedial classes.

The teachers also presented anonymous quotes by non-honors students who said they “felt less motivated or successful” because they weren’t included in the classes that emphasized motivation and success.
Nothing was stopping them from signing up and putting in the work.

Elections have consequences. Maybe the wine moms will stop voting for crazy liberal democrats.

Florida will soon be competing with Cali for that title.

The lefts idea of equity is for everyone to be poor and dumb.

The dumbing down of America.
Our kids learn about unconscious bias and systemic racism in classes (including math curriculum).
Kids in Asia are sticking to the basics and beyond to forge forward academic achievers and productive citizens.

Classic liberal defeatist mentality.
Instead of acknowledging that you need to do better and work harder to qualify into the Honors classes, let’s just get rid of the honors classes altogether

The biggest mistake people make when they look at honors classes and wonder why their kid isn’t in them… is that they think honors classes are some sort of special reward.
A real honors class should just be more work and more advanced work… not because you’re getting the kids to live up to some sort of standard but because the kids absolutely need it. It’s special education. Think of a bell curve measuring ability. The students on either side of the curve are special Ed. You need to serve them because they are ill-suited for the classes that the kids in the middle of the bell curve take.
When you take an honors kid and throw them into the tank of a “regular” class, it’s torture to them. I feel for those talented kids who are going to be robbed of one of the few things that they enjoy in life… academic challenge.

Then place said kids in AP classes as a freshman (or whatever year they currently are in) and see how it goes.

The smart kids have already exited.
And the ones that remain will be a problem in the class. Smart kids get bored when surrounded by morons. They will find ways to amuse themselves.
