I keep hearing from the Democrats that the wall will have no effect on illegal entry into the country, that there is no obstacle that these desperate people can't traverse or the drug lords can't tunnel under. They also say that more illegals are returning back to Mexico than are actually coming in.

If this is the case, why are they fighting so hard against the wall. Are they worried that it will keep these poor people from returning home? If they were correct about the wall then why not sit back and rub it in Trump's face when it fails. I'm calling bullisH*the on this.

Because it's a giant waste of billions of dollars of taxpayer money.

You probably are right, it is a waste of taxpayers money. We would be so much better off just ending all of the social programs extended to all of the illegal immigrants. We would save tons of money doing this and could spend the wasted money on a wall on drug interdiction on the border.

Makes sense to me.

Mueller and his staff are wasting plenty of taxpayers money investigating Trump to turn up no collusion by Trump. None of you are worried about that.

The wall will help. If walls weren't effective then nobody would have one.

Can you provide me the total social program $ spent on illegals vs. the total cost of building the wall? I'd be happy to reassess my opinion with that analysis.

So then the other poster's point about it making economic sense is baseless.

I don’t have to. Not spending money on a wall certainly doesn’t save any money, I give you that.

Not spending money on social programs that attract illegals will certainly save taxpayers money, does it not? I hope you can understand this.

Since when did walls become ineffective. I see them all around the world. All around houses(not talking about 5 foot chain link)! All around gated communities!

If they are ineffective why do people, prisons, countries, businesses and gov'ts all around the world use them?

Millions. What some don't realize is that the number 800,000 of DACA recipients thats bandied about only accounts for the ones who have come forward and made themselves known. There are an estimated 3 million who could come "out of the shadows" and validly apply for the same status. This is a scam by the dems to flood the country with potential democrat voters.
