The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

I would know. I am one of them.

To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

quote:

The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making.

Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.

quote:

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.

But these successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective

And we know this is bullshite because none of the other true blue Republican administrations delivered like this one. This is the most conservative administration since Reagan

Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis.

Is he talking about Trump or Ben Franklin?

that's historic level of stupidity.

I wonder why Shapiro wrote this for the NYT and not the Daily Wire?

I’m usually not an alarmist along such lines...but there would be bloodshed if this were attempted.

So invoking the constitution causes a constitutional crisis?

One of my favorite bullshite stories from their "sources" was the one where they said Trump watched videos of gorillas fighting all day long

I'm just hoping for lots of tweeting and a massive mole hunt

If Trump plays this responsibly and shrugs it off before using it as a possible example of the deep state swamp, I'll be very sad

That was most likely written by some fresh journalism school grad making $25k/year. Nice effort.

This is exactly what trump needs right now. He is going to go off the rails at the rallies.
