Sure, up until the point there is a single restriction on weapons, and then this place goes crazy.

Was he the guy that went off saying "we need to fix the schools. Gun laws can be debated later"?

You should be forced to try and use his daughters death for your gun grab in his presence. This man knows the real issue. Why the hell are our schools so unsafe?

Restrictions like a "gun-free zone"? How are those working out again?

You're terrible at this. Replace 'weapons' with 'rights', then pull your head out of your arse. Maybe then you'll see this more clearly.

Again, it seems like you're willing to have this conversation but won't allow any discussion of the tools being used in these killings. Guns aren't the only problem, but they're part of the discussion.

Why should it not?

Seriously, one only has the rights he is able to defend.

The folks wanting gun RESTRICTIONS (I acknowledge it isn't repeal of 2A for but a very few nuts) SHOULD have to work hard for it.

It SHOULD be difficult and the ones that currently have the "right" should fight vehemently to keep them. I am for "progress"...but, I want it methodical, slow, painful, and with struggle. I believe the BEST result comes from the fiery hot crucible from which it is forged.

AND....I hate the "do it NOW because we are emotional about it!"

Allow everyone to bring a weapon to school if they so choose. Are you suggesting gun violence would go down if that was the case?

I think you are being very charitable here.

I have literally NEVER had a conversation with a liberal where, after some Q&A, it wasn't readily obvious they wanted a full on gun ban for civilians or something very close to a full on ban.

The only problem with guns is that we're not using enough of them to secure the schools.

I'm willing to DISCUSS the tools being used in these mass killings. Sorry.

If the school had the same security as the Department of Education, would this have happened?

Some of my very best friends are liberal and none are "insane" or "anti-2A". They do have very different views than me. But, I am not so sure either of us have a monopoly of what is correct. I am willing to hear the other "side" and understand that my friend is as smart and as honest as I am..yet, we disagree.

But, as I currently have the "right"...it is his task that should be the more difficult one. I will NOT give up an inch just to "salve" his fears.

I will listen, however.

What would that look like? I don't know how secure the Department of Education is. Asking seriously.
