Just asked McConnell Spox @StewSays if he thinks they can replace Justice Kennedy before the election, and he said, “yea, why not?”

Hot damn, him too. They've learned the 'ways of the force' to use it against the progs, this is glorious. Give them everything they've given over the last 40 years. Confirm away boys !

Reasonable people have spent the last two years laughing at the knee-jerk McConnell haters.

Replacing Kennedy (who did some good things in landmark 5-4 decisions, and also was part of some terrible decisions 5-4 or 6-3 the other way) who was a mushy, left-leaning (usually) swing vote with a reliable member of an increasingly conservative majority is the real accomplishment of a Trump Presidency - replacing Scalia with Gorsuch was just treading water. Replacing Kennedy, RBG and potentially Breyer (and Sotomayor) are all gains.

If Thomas chooses to retire before the end of a Trump administration, I would say that is merely a hold.

Trump is now certain to replace 2, likely (not certain) to replace 3 in just 1 term. There are potentially 3 other vacancies (for different reasons) for a 2-term Trump Presidency - that would be truly revolutionary if they are all in the mold of Alito, Thomas and Gorsuch (and not "Republican" nominees like Kennedy, Stevens, Souter who might as well been picked by a Democrat President) - even O'Connor and Roberts were disappointing at time.

McCain is already good as dead. He's not coming back to DC.

Even as a lame duck with zero fricks to give, not even Flake would be crazy enough to hold up his party's SCOTUS nomination.

His fellow senators, the majority leader and the President will flog the frick out of him if he tries anything.

Yes but does he care? He’s not running for re-election and hates Trump

I suppose a white male replacing a white male would be acceptable in this scenario.

We still have all the other boxes checked, right?
