So the media is still in full hysteria mode as "we approach 5M cases!"
With 160k deaths that means that .03% of the people that have contracted the Virus die from it, that means 99.97% of the people that get it survive.
Moreover 160k deaths is the equivalent of 0.00048% of the population.
That means 99.99952% of you MFs AINT gonna die.
Can we get the frick out with this bullshite already

I have no idea what the numbers are but 165k/5M is 3%, not .03%. And 160k/328M is .048%. You have to move the decimal two places when you convert to percent.

I might not be the greatest at math, but 162k deaths would be a 3.2% death rate out of 5mm cases ...
For instance 500,000 would be 10%.

The US is more realistically above 50 million Covid-19 cases.
45+ million of them being asymptomatic
EDIT: FYI: The US is also the only major country that has already tested over 10% of it's population.

It’s pretty clear now the the 5 million cases is probably at least an order of magnitude off. At first only sick people with fever were getting tested not to mention many people who had mild symptoms just got on with their lives and didn’t even bother to get tested. It’s also pretty widely accepted that a substantial percentage have NO SYMPTOMS so unless they were required to be tested or just plain curious those cases went on uncounted as well.

Since the best estimates from the CDC and WHO lend to the belief that 10 times as many people have been exposed but did not develop symptoms his math in the end will be way high
