Amazon reports rare quarterly loss as online shopping slows
People are strapped for cash and not buying as much junk. When you have to choose between milk or some Chinese junk the choice seems pretty clear. It will get worse as noted above as the economy shrinks leading us into a recession.

Yep. Volume projections are so fricked they're sitting on a ton of excess capacity. Trying to balance internal cost (keeping AMZL fed) with volume commitments to 3rd party is hurting. Now what doesn't get attention is the mass attrition of middle to mid-senior management. All the guys who came up amazon are leaving for startups. Culture and skills being replaced with leaders from such high performing outfits as American Airlines and GE. Unless they do some soul searching it'll just get worse. Uncle Jeff saw the writing on the wall, 100%

The Rise and Fall and Rise Again of Walmart is coming.

They wrote off $7.6B from their investment in Rivian. That's a pretty epic fail.

Meanwhile, sales at Amazon’s cloud-computing business, which helps power the online operations of Netflix, McDonald’s and other companies, grew 37% in the quarter. And sales in its advertising business, where brands pay to get their products to show up first when shoppers search on Amazon’s site, rose 25%.
This is all that matters unfortunately. Would love to see them get wiped out but they’re stuffed into so many ETFs and funds it’s nearly impossible.

What is wal-mart going to do to replace China? Mexico?

People are tightening their belts.
Our economy is built on consumerism and people are stopping the consuming.
The Fed has to raise interest rates to counter all the inflation caused by the government flooding the economy with cheap cash.
Stagflation will be a harsh bitch.
Middle class will suffer the most. Again.
Our government is run by fricking morons.

I’d love to see both Amazon and Walmart go away. They were the catalyst for all this manufacturing going elsewhere

Lots of corporations seem to be coming up short nowadays...
Wonder where they're funneling the $$ to before claiming it as a loss on their taxes.
edit for words.
