@AllenWest
1/ I hear that New York progressive socialist Rep. @AOC is coming to Houston with $2M for weather relief. The gesture is appreciated but it doesn’t remove the fact that her green new deal philosophy failed Texans.

quote:

2/ Since 2006 Texas has given $19B in taxpayer subsidies to wind energy companies. Over the past 2-3 years Texas has tripled our dependence on wind energy to 23-25 percent of our energy distribution system.
quote:

3/ What Texans found out this week is that wind energy, and solar, are not reliable, dependable, and available energy resources. Therefore, ma’am, you’re not going to buy off Texans for your green new deal energy pipe dream for $2M.
quote:

4/ Texans appreciate your assistance but don’t want to be part of a partisan political photo opportunity. If you truly cared you would have anonymously sent the check, instead of making it about you.

Next time you come to Texas bring us the $19B we wasted on wind energy.

You haven’t given a good explanation for winterizing in an environment that has seen 3+ consecutive days of freezing only twenty times since the 1930s

I wanted to say something to this effect but Lt. Col. West beat me to it. Well put, sir.

Pretty Sure the total cost of damage to personal property (burst pipes, loss of human life, car damage, housing damage, fires) will far outweigh the cost skipped in 2011 to winterize power generation.

Someone needs to hurl a nice Texas sized tomato right in her grill when she gallops off the plane.

What was the cost to winterize including upkeep and maintenance? What is that cost compared to pre-increased fossil fuel regulations? What is the total compared to total current costs so far from the ice storm?

Do you have any numbers to back up your claim or your feelings are good enough?

20 times? That's more than I thought and total justification for winterizing.
