All of these elite institutions brag incessantly about their “diversity efforts".....

And, everybody knows that this means that they are admitting students that aren’t nearly as qualified as their non-minority counterparts. However, no one is allowed to recognize this fact. What these two professors discussed should just be plain common f*cking sense. These diversity students are MUCH less qualified – of course they’re going to struggle when graded on a curve against their much more qualified classmates.

It’s now a fireable offense and “abhorrent" to mention common sense observations at Georgetown Law.

Does nothing but set them up for failure down the road

These are mostly kids that never should have been there to begin with. I read a story about medical schools having the same issues with graduates of HBCUs. Their MCAT scores were shite, but they had to set aside a certain number of spots for "muh diversity". A year later a staggering number of those students had washed out and had a year's worth of medical school debt that they couldn't pay.

The law school at UT-Austin was a top ten school when I attended, and it went to great lengths to attract qualified Black applicants. But the simple fact is that the pool of potential applicants who truly qualify head-to-head for admission at a Top Ten school is quite limited, and EVERY SCHOOL is courting them. They can write their own ticket for scholarships and the like.

To the best of my recollection, there were about 12-13 Black kids in my 1-L Section of about 100 students. Maybe all of them qualified on academics ... maybe not. But (if so) most of them seemed to be near the bottom of the group academically, based upon study group and Socratic performance.

Five of that dozen returned for second year.

Sowell addresses this problem in a couple of his books. Those kids who dropped were quite bright, even if not up to the standards of a Top Ten school. Had they gone to Baylor or Tech or St. Mary, they probably would have EXCELLED. He posits that UT did them a disservice by enticing them into an environment for which they were not qualified or prepared.

He may have a point.

I'm curious. Why did she believe it was a private call? Who leaked the recording of the call? The article doesn't mention these important facts.

The twitter mob is cringy. Groupthink at it's finest. They think it's the teachers fault for not teaching up to par. What fricking idiots

At some point bringing them in won't be enough, they'll have to pass these folks

This is a lose/lose for the teachers. They lose if they talk about how shitty the black students are. If they fail them for their shitty performance they get accused of racism and lose again. There isn't 1 single way for them to win this game.

There will eventually be a push for "Racial Equity in Academics". No matter how anyone performed, they will all be made to look equal on paper. Book it.

So a very generous statutory nationwide curve.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

My son when to a public gifted school in NYC. Kids had to test in except for some who got a boost for their skin color.

All of the kids who actually tested in did fine regardless of skin color. Bringing a kid in who can't keep up is a disservice to them. It's not good for them to know they are the dumbest kid in the class.

Only a race-based curve. Whites and Asians will be ineligible. Some will have points shaved. Some will have points added. A small price to pay for "muh inclusion".

He's right on.

That's why Affirmative Action is one of the most racist policies this nation's ever seen. That's why things like social promotion are leaving kids with a high school diploma but no marketable skills or abilities to make it into a university or function properly beyond high school.

I think the people that downvoted your post did so based on your name/avatar and not the content of your post because it's 100% on the money.
