Like blowing up the vessels used to bring it to our borders and killing the people who bring it?

This is my main issue with the libertarian worldview.
Well that theory wasn't really libertarian. Stopping the demand isn't, by itself, libertarian. The response to the optimistic result led to libertarian worldviews.
However, a LOT of the issues that create the social pathologies are built from more government. This goes from welfare to the 2019 opioid regulations that created the fentanyl crisis.
So I will admit that I believe my stance serves both masters (winning the specific argument ITT and promoting smaller government in doing so).

Not an effective policy for that goal.

They put fentanyl into everything. I had a friend die because he bought adhd medicine that was spiked with fentanyl. He was in college and wanted to stay up studying for his finals. He didn't deserve to die.

More arguments why we need to flood the market with proper opiates to destroy the demand for fentanyl so we can focus the addiction efforts on only the addicts, from that point forward.
Too many dangerous ancillary issues with creating a system that increases the demand for fentanyl, that have severe risks for non-addicts (like your example).
