A win win for both sides is border security and DACA amnesty. Funding the government is not part of that discussion.

You’ve got your terms confused. A great deal maker wins for his side. Some times the other side also gets a win as part of the process but that is secondary for a deal maker. A mediator try’s to get a win for both sides. Trump is not a mediator.

When you only need to make one "deal" per decade or so, sure. But when you're constantly in negotiations in one deal after another? You can sheer a sheep many times but skin it only once.
