The Myth of Ronald Reagan*
The Patriot Act
War on Terror
War in Afghanistan
War in Iraq x2
War on Drugs
"Deficits don't matter"
Medicare Part D
No Child Left Behind
Unlimited, unenforced "legal" immigration
No worker protections
Tax cuts for rich, authoritarian progressives
"Acting Presidential"
The FBI
The CIA
The NSA
The Dept of Justice
George W Bush
Dick Cheney
John Ashcroft
John Roberts
John McCain
Mitt Romney
Paul Ryan
John Kasich
Jeff Flake

Coming soon: Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Marco Rubio

* When I say the Myth of Ronald Reagan, I speak solely to the lionization of Reagan by the GOPe in their explicit attempt to further their authoritarian policies. They decontextualize things like military escalation and budget deficits necessitated by the Cold War, they recontextualize his failed compromises on immigration and shaky 2nd Amendment record, and they never address how his marriage to Social Conservatives and the "moral majority" vastly shrank the party in the 21st century while undermining any relationship Conservatism(TM) had to personal choice.

Is he?

Flooded the ME with petrodollars while fricking domestic producers with his OPEC deal, he flooded America with south of the border immigration, and of course he supercharged the MIC during his tenure.

I liked him overall, but get a grip. He wasn't Jesus.

Social Conservatives and in particular the pro-life movement are the only reason the GOP is partly competitive a lot of races. With out the pro-life plank the GOP would be dead.

War on Terror

One thing that Bush and the GOP got right. Pre 911, terrorist groups were routinely attacking US interest all over the globe because of Soft Clinton and DNC responses. Terrorists attached USS Cole, US bases, US embassies, and the Twin Tower on US soil. Clinton DNC response were weak, and pretty much encouraged more, larger scale attacks. After 911, Bush and the GOP took the fight to a few shithole countries in the Middle East, and the US has been on the offensive since then. The US finally grew a backbone and fought back, and the attacks on US soil, and on US interests globally, have pretty much been reduced to nothing.

Reagan wasn’t a myth OP.

If you didn’t live through it, don’t believe the propaganda you’ve been taught.

He made America proud again.

Reagan was better than most recent presidents but was not very good at all and didn't care about the Constitution.

The carboard cutout of Reagan that the GOPe stands up besides all their worst policies is certainly a myth.

Reagan didn't trust that snake HW as far as he could throw him, and rightfully so. Reagan actually loved America and didn't see it as just a goldmine to sell off and exploit to the highest bidders around the globe. It is precisely because he was such a popular and effective POTUS that they have distorted him so.

So I say again "The Myth of Ronald Reagan" not the actual Ronald Reagan. Would Reagan support trillion dollar deficits funding the MIC during the most peaceful decades in world history? Would Reagan support domestic surveillance and the creation and maintenance of a full-fledged corporatist police state? I don't think so, and if he would, then frick him.

So most congress members dont love bombing defenseless countries? Please enlighten me. Crenshaw is a RINO defense contractor ball licker who would jump at any chance to send our troops to die for *insert bullshite reason here*. We have had 20 fricking years of wars that never needed to happen other than to enrich people here.

This is atrociously bad.

But we also traded far more freedom for the perception of security in 2020. I'm sure we'll all line up for permits to socialize in public before too long.

It's possible for some of us to disagree with an interventionist foreign policy without trying to paint former service members as cartoon characters who just love to blow up "brown people". Your description was something right out of the ear gauge, dick-pierced all black wearing antifa crowd.

That's how the democrats get what they want. Figured I was playing by the well established rules of hyperbole-to-get-your-way. Point taken.
