I'm curious how many people would choose death with guns over life without them.

Does not compute!

Well, with social media these days, I doubt anyone would open his door once the word got out. Once the first person, gave up his guns in a neighborhood, the rest would hide them or get ready for the police in their snipers’ perches.

Cops aren't going to resign in waves over gun confiscation laws. They've never done it over any other unjust law and they aren't going to do it over guns either.

Keep dreaming, statists.

Have you ever had a gun pulled or held on you before? It's one of those things that feels like the first time no matter how many times you've experienced it, a different unimaginable level of stress and anxiety.

Cops live with this fear every second of every day on the job and half of their protocol revolves around the perp possibly possessing a weapon; they'll be the first to tell you that coming across the wrong guy with a firearm is #1 on their list of nightmare scenarios by a WIDE margin.

So let's say the govt controversially institutes the gun confiscation and they make it the LEO's duty to collect from the citizens. First off, most cops will already have a problem with the law itself and will at least oppose it to some degree as a regular citizen. They may not quit the force due to this alone, but the thought will probably cross their minds.

Next, these same cops that are already questioning the law are ordered by the government to risk their lives - to be the front lines, the faces of the gun grab, and the direct recipient of the backlash. And not only that, they're literally FORCED to relive their nightmare scenario over and over and over and over as every name they seek out on the list is a different person they have to approach on his or her own property that DEFINITELY has a gun.

You might see relatively decent numbers staying on the force for the first couple weeks, but as more and more shootouts and deaths reach the news the LEOs will start to realize that this isn't even a cause they fully supported to begin with, why should they pay the ultimate price for it? Eventually the police numbers would be down to the bare minimum, basically the masochists and sociopaths that get some sort of weird enjoyment out of kill or be killed.

What happens when the last one of them either quits or succumbs before the task force has even made a dent in the amount of guns circulating? That's not a job that can be rotated in with new hires. Presumably the military takes over from there, but aside from droning, grenading, or bombing the opposition how do they go door to door to acquire guns? That's right, the exact same face-to-face danger the LEOs faced, the only difference is the uniform.

I realize that's a long-winded post to say something fairly obvious, but I feel like this can all be rolled into one big answer as to why we'll NEVER institute a confiscation. It's just not feasible for even the most basic aspects like manpower, let alone a whole slew of other issues related to the second amendment and freedom from tyrrany.

For instance, the 2A doesn't say that "felons", or "domestic abusers" cannot own firearms. It says "shall not be infringed".

18th century, what was a felon? What was domestic abuse? Does being conservative to you mean you yearn for the lawlessness of the old west? Everybody has a gun so you should too? If you don't, shame on you, you got what was coming.
