Sen. Leahy's office releases this statement: "This morning, Senator Leahy will undergo surgery to repair a broken hip that he suffered as a result from a fall at his house in McLean, Virginia, Wednesday night."
"His doctors determined that the best course of action would be to have surgery to repair his hip as soon as possible. He is expected to make a full recovery and begin a healthy course of physical therapy immediately."
Needless to say, this is another reminder of the difficulties of running a 50-50 Senate. Will probably be a few days before we know when Leahy can return, but Dems will almost certainly need his vote to have any hope of passing a reconciliation bill

I wonder if he got an arse beating from those same guys that beat Harry Reid's arse?

When you need hospice care, maybe you shouldn’t be in government.

I doubt it at 82.

Retirement age is 65-70.....
Politics is SO LUCRATIVE, they stay as long as they can!
And it is bad for the country.

No, then they could appoint a replacement and pass bills again.

What reconciliation bill are they currently talking about? Are they bringing back Build Back Better? I haven't seen much about anything reconciliation related recently.

He is expected to make a full recovery

Leaky Leahy - that was Limbaugh's name for him. He would never say his name without adding Leaky.
It was because he always leaked confidential or made up information to the press. A complete pos is Leaky Leahy. He should resign, if he had an ounce of integrity and desire to do what is right. So, he won't.
