7 years ago this week, the huge protests in Wisconsin began against Scott Walker
7 years later, are Wisconsin teachers any worse off? Are Wisconsin children seeing their educational system declining? Have there been mass deaths the past 7 years?

What an excellent example of a partisan frenzy that was, and a reminder that protesters in the streets do not represent the feelings of the larger body of a population. Likewise, a reminder that during any "movement", facts do not matter.

Is this part of Heatherzana's "blue wave"?

More importantly, probably the rawest abuse of power incident in 21st century America (the Wisconsin John Doe investigations) barely ever got a blip on the national news.

What should have been a national story night after night barely got a mention.

The Walker recall stuff was stupid, but I generally don't get upset at people protesting, using legal means to try to influence policy, whatever. The John Doe stuff was truly scary, though. All those implicated should have been sent to prison for a long time.

Its a mixed bag.

Are teachers worse off? Financially yes, public teachers are worse off and have less representation. You decide if that is overall fair.

Are schools worse off? I would say that they aren't better. Likely worse as money is tighter than ever. Social issues and safety issues on a major rise.

Was ACT 10 a disaster? No. I understand the disdain for public sector unions. I can't stand the concept myself. But some will say it has been terrible if they can't get past the non union concept.

As a moderate conservative to see the public schools....and hear the language ...and see football teams kneeling for the anthem....and smell the pot.. And see the progressive left platform promoted at every turn....(valentine's day in the library we have half the books on display for gay and lesbian students, kids are told they can sit for the anthem every day on the loudspeaker and they all do, etc) and the complete absence of God and total disdain for anything right of the aisle...it's super disheartening.

I like to ask 2 questions of I am looking to engage.
1) if Christianity was true would you be a Christian?
2) are there any issues where you might take the Republican side on politically?

1 is usually a great struggle. 2 is a definite "nope"

Good post. This is the central problem with the American political discourse IMO. Too many allow their beliefs to be influenced by their political affiliation rather than the visa versa. It's the tail wagging the dog. Disgusting.

I'm confident you have your own biased/ignorant view of what true Christianity would be. There are no abortions in true Christianity; that's for sure.

I am pro life. So I think my belief on that fits with the vast majority of Christians. Right?

To be fair everyone will come at Christianity with different issues from their own angles... Infant vs adult baptism, Lord supper regulation, age of the earth, etc....but the major factor is the Resurrection and Gods Grace. Gotta believe that. The rest the stuff is important but not at that level.

I also remember the Progs trashing the buildings.

What was the cost to fix all that?
