It’s cold up there, tight spaces....

Didn’t Kock-stand say we should be in solidarity with them?

The more reasons not to treat the rest of the country like you guys.
Montana has had 16 total deaths, you think they should be treated the same as New York? And it’s cold there too!

Of course not but who's saying they have to be?
It's up to the Governer of each state to make their own policies.

But the directives from the White House and Fauci made no distinction for months

Where they issuing a national stay at home orders? Closing beaches? Mandatory masks wearing s?
Directives? Not sure what you mean by it but they were more suggestions than anything else.
South Dakota did none of those things.
Not sure about Montana but I would doubt they have the same policies as California.

President Trump was clear that governors would call their shots. He published the “phases” but none of it was binding. If you’re mad at how your state is handling things don’t rant about the northeast, don’t rant about the White House. Get mad at your governor.

all except mass have democratic governors.

Phase 1,2 and 3 directives issued by the White House. Those directives.

To pretend that the president’s phase 1,2 and 3 guidelines weren’t used as cover by liberal governors is not being honest.

I don’t think Revelator is ranting about the Northeast. I think he’s pointing out that it was silly to shut down an entire country of 3.8M square miles when the issue was largely confined to 13.5k square miles (New York MSA including Philly, Newark and NYC).

Bingo

NY suffered from very crowded conditions like mass transit and it was then compounded with some really stupid policies like forcing coronavirus patients to be accepted into nursing homes rather than quarantined.
After the first real world data came in, it was clear that people over 65 with comorbidities were the ones at high risk while younger healthy people had very low risk, but then the demprogs saw the coronavirus as a means to wreck the economy and get Trump. Now it's blowing up in their faces again.

Think about this. If Trump had come out from day one or shortly after and said,” We aren’t shutting down the entire country, but instead, we will quarantine those at risk, those infected, use social distancing and let the places less affected keep working.”
Do you not believe that many governors, especially Republican ones would have used that proclamation as grounds to stay fully open?

Television has no borders. People live in a bubble with TV.
Local media affiliates get their narratives from the network.
IMO, local media, who followed those narratives, are as much to blame as the MSM.

I’m not sure how much the liberal governors were even following them. Louisiana’s governor lied to delay opening. Illinois’ governor created five phases. Michigan has a six step plan.

Do people still watch local news?

But I think if Trump said he didn’t want the economy shut down, Republican Governors would have followed his lead

In retrospect sure but there was no federal policy that "shut down" anything other than airline travel but there was certainly many unknowns when this thing first hit. It was contained for the most part on the west coast and Rockies but exploded in the NE.Lots of unknowns and I don't blame some for shutting down for a couple of weeks to gather data and target their approach (DeSantis)
