42% of Louisiana Dems want another Dem candidate against JBE after signing abortion law
LINK

quote:

Q. Right now, John Bel Edwards is the only Democrat running for Governor. Would you like to see another Democrat candidate running for Governor?

Yes 42%

No 43%

Undecided 15%

Total 100%

Oof.

Folks, JBE is in kind of a bad spot right now if not outright trouble.

If I was advising the LA GOP and the Abraham and Rispone campo, I would say that there’s an opportunity here to at least freeze some Democrats into staying home by emphasizing his support of people like Obama and Hillary and support of national organizations that support abortion like the DGA for example.

The more democrats that stay home, the less likely JBE wins the first round outright which is his best chance to win the election as runoff is a bad situation for him.

We should have a poliboarder run for governor pretending to be the progressive, common-sense alternative to JBE. I think SFP could fill that niche.

JBE would have zero chances of re-election if he did not. 0

Maybe, but the opportunity is still there to depress/freeze his more liberal base over it. Any help that conservatives can get in keeping him under 50.1 for the first round is much appreciated and necessary.

The only thing that could derail Edwards is if Trump takes an interest in a Republican. Neither Rispone or Abraham has gotten much traction. They will have to say what they are for other than what they are against.

Edwards has somewhere between 6-10 million in his campaign war chest.....that is a stout number. Maybe someone like a Scalise or Kennedy could come in and run and change things, but that ain't happening.

Those 42% of Democrats will vote for Edwards if their choice is Edwards VS a Republican....especially a no name Republican.....and both of these guys have yet to get significant name recognition outside of this bar

Trump has a policy of staying out primary contests until there is one official candidate that's won the runoff or the GOP has nominated. He made a mistake endorsing Kobach in Kansas during the primary over the incumbent Governor and Kobach ended up losing the election.

Trump will endorse whichever republican wins the runoff and will likely do a rally for him as well.

The polls tell a different story.

Ralph Abraham has been getting a big chunk of undecideds and is just 8 points behind him for the first round is tied with him in the runoff.

Poll done by Remington Research Group....

LINK

quote:

Q: Announced candidates in the 2019 election for Governor of Louisiana are the Democrat John Bel
Edwards, the Republican Eddie Rispone and the Republican Ralph Abraham. If the election were held today, for whom would you vote?

John Bel Edwards: 42%

Eddie Rispone: 8% [GO TO Q8B]

Ralph Abraham: 34% [GO TO Q8C]

Undecided: 16% [GO TO 8D]

Abraham is tied here against JBE.

quote:

Q: If the 2019 election for Governor of Louisiana were held today, and the candidates were just the Democrat John Bel Edwards and the Republican Ralph Abraham, for whom would you vote?

John Bel Edwards: 45%
Ralph Abraham: 45%
Undecided 10%

And now this here is telling....

quote:

Q: Do you believe Governor John Bel Edwards has done a good enough job as Governor to be re-elected, or do you think we should give someone new a chance?

Re-elect Governor John Bel Edwards: 42%
Give someone new a chance: 48%

Undecided: 10%

quote:

They will have to say what they are for other than what they are against.

This applies to JBE as well and he's going to have to run on his record since there's no David Vitter to run against.

And that's going to be hard to considering he's achieved absolutely nothing positive at all and so far he's been doing nothing but lying about economic numbers and bashing Bobby Jindal.

I'm working with the Abraham campaign. There are already plans for multiple Trump rallies and Pence visits once the runoff gets here. Unless Abraham of Rispone get caught doing cocaine out of a hooker's arse while yelling roll tide; JBE is finished.

Without getting into specifics that could reveal IRL info, could you say what you exactly do for the Abraham campaign?

I have been volunteering to help set up some fundraisers. I was planning to be a lot more involved, but then I lucked into getting a residency in WV. At one of the fund raisers last month, Dr. Abraham said that he has already gotten private assurances from both Pres. Trump and Vice Pres. Pence that are going to go all in. In addition to that one of my pledge brothers works for the RNC and RGA and he is the one coordinating stuff and he confirmed the Trump/Pence rumors. The GOP wants this governorship back bad because La is probably going to loss a Congressional district in 2020 and they do not want JBE in charge of redistricting. The strategy is just to get to the runoff and then it will not matter how much money JBE has.

I hate to inform you but JBE is DONE !!! He CAN NOT win if the Republicans don't attack each other. He can spend all the money he has, when Donald John Trump comes to support Abraham after the general, JBE will get flushed like the piece of shite he is.

All true. Abraham was a big supporter of Trump at a time when others in the GOP we’re equivocating.

Your average Democrat is extremely stupid if they think JBE is pro anything other than pro-JBE!

To keep his Louisiana gig he signed a worthless law originally submitted by a Democrat to cover his big tax and spending arse in the election year! Forget that your children are fleeing the anti business climate that JBE created for jobs in the rest of a country that’s booming under Trump! I signed a law that he will not defend, but could have pushed 4 years ago!

Trust me, for a national gig, JBE would toss an unborn baby on the barbi faster then you can say “I’m a Democrat”.

I know a lot of liberals are incensed right now about JBE and would gladly support a more liberal candidate.

But that more liberal candidate isn't coming. And unlike the GOP, the liberals WILL hold their nose and vote for a candidate they don't completely agree with, because they are going to be told that no matter how "bad" JBE is for their cause, a GOPer will be 1000 times worse.

Our best bet is to win back the GOP and independent voters who went for JBE or stayed home in the 2015 runoff. This is very possible and this should be the main mission of the GOP and whoever our candidate ends up being.

Don't waste one dime trying to get libs to stay home.

I'm a Louisiana Dem

Why should I vote for a Republican, other than "they are not JBE"?

You'll have to sell voters on that, not just on a anti-JBE strategy alone.

What has over a century of Democrat leadership done for Louisiana?

Unless you're a plaintiff atty....

Party line voters are mindless. It's groupthink
