Three Our Lady of the Lake urgent care centers in the Baton Rouge area have temporarily closed due to COVID cases among staff, increasing wait times for testing and highlighting the strain Baton Rouge's health care system is under amid an unprecedented wave of infections.
The Highland Rd. at Airline Hwy., Galvez and O'Neal locations were all listed as closed on The Lake's website Thursday afternoon, citing "the recent increase in COVID infections, quarantine requirements, and strict safety protocols."
Premier Health, which operates the urgent care centers owned by The Lake, confirmed an uptick positive tests among staff members across its centers on Thursday. The closures are part of a plan to condense the facilities' work force in order to prevent further closures to its 19 centers, said Phil Rainier, spokesman for Premier Health.
"We have had staff members across the board, like everywhere else, test positive," Rainier said. "Every day we look at our staffing and optimize how we're going to react and make sure we're delivering the maximum amount of care and doing it as conveniently as possible while still dealing with the conditions on the ground."

Why wasn't the staff vaccinated?
Also, why didn't they convert to a drive thru test facility to prevent close contact with patients and staff for those only seeking a test?

All those Healthcare workers were vaccinated. Sounds like the vaccine is literally killing people.

Probably.
A lot of the folks in these clinics get tested regularly. If they test positive, they are usually required to quarantine at home until they test negative. Doesn't matter if they are showing no symptoms.

This x1000. But they have to test so they don’t give it to MeMaw who isn’t vaxxed
Even though they themselves won’t feel it

We gotta be getting close to herd immunity.
Like, the entire state is infected if they're not vaccinated.
And like, some of the vaccinated are infected.
And like, a lot of people have had it.
And like, nobody gives a shite.....

No, I live in Baton Rouge and OLOL only recently put in a Vaccine mandate for all employees. I think by 15 August, all employees must show proof of vaccination to come to work.

Ah, so masks and vaccines really don't work?
They should probably quit testing - especially if that testing is unreliable and with a high false positive rate.
