A perfect storm.

ZeroHedge

quote:

A confluence of circumstances has come together to create a “perfect storm” for global food production, and now that “perfect storm” is about to get even worse.

One:
quote:

In recent days, the number of newly confirmed COVID cases in China has soared to record highs, and Chinese authorities have responded to this with unprecedented lockdowns.

quote:

Chinese lockdowns are a lot more brutal than lockdowns in the western world.

quote:

To put this in perspective, the number of people that are currently locked down in China is greater than the total population of the United States.

quote:

Needless to say, these lockdowns are bringing the Chinese economy to a grinding halt, and that is going to affect the entire planet.

Two:
quote:

Meanwhile, the fertilizer crisis in the United States is about to get even worse.

quote:

Previously, I have written about how the skyrocketing cost of fertilizer is going to cause massive problems for many U.S. farmers, and now many of those farmers may not be able to get the fertilizer that they need at all due to “railroad-mandated shipping reductions”.

Three:
quote:

At the same time, the new bird flu pandemic in the U.S. just continues to intensify

quote:

The cost of eggs has already gone completely nuts, and it is only going to go higher.

quote:

Of course the cost of chicken meat and the cost of turkey meat will both continue to soar as well.

And just for fun, throw in:
quote:

Ukraine and Russia usually account for approximately 30 percent of all global wheat exports, and so we desperately need that war to end.

quote:

Unfortunately, negotiations have totally broken down, and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken just told CNN that the war could continue through the end of the year…

And the hits just keep coming.

Save for possibly Board's Head, there was no Turkey deli meat at my local Publix. Plenty of ham, and some chicken though.

Just saw a story on solar flares. We missed a big one a while back by a mere 9 days. Meaning, had the position of the sun been rotating at the right time, we'd have seen a global black out event not seen since the 1800's. Before the civil war.

Just something else to lose sleep over.

No question the original covid was. And the cascade of global shut down, the supply chain failing, etc...

But I don't think all of it was planned. It's just the result of " well, duh! " that happens when folks allow things to spiral out of control. Leave the room full of oil soaked rags and a toddler with a box of matches...

"OMG!! How'd that happen??"

4) The ethanol stupidity is going to divert farmland to fuel corn which is fertilizer intensive, thereby wasting an already scarce resource.

100% this…

There’s no other explanation than going from…. Russia pissed about NATO meddling… to nuclear war in 2.3 seconds.

It has all been staged from day 1.

Point is Brandon created artificial demand for corn, which increases fertilizer use.

Had a talk with owner of feed mill that supplies catfish feed. He is worried they won’t be able to get enough ingredients to make feed this summer. Shipments are slow as frick

There are things going on that could collapse entire food production industries

All of this proves that globalism is a failure and that nationalism rules.

The time for depending on others for goods is over. The USA can be its sole supplier of energy and food if its own government would quit strangling its production.

Countries that resist the globalist power grab and depend on its on citizens to produce will be the powers in the changing world.
