Just saw a pop up ad on TD for Cedrick Richmond, Louisiana's gerrymandered Democrat.

Wondering who the few disenfranchised Republicans or Independents in the district are voting for.

I like Jesse Schmidt but Shawndra Rodriguez looks like she might be a better challenger.

Fulcrum these Gerrymandered districts. States should be broken down into mathematical decisive grids and let the chips fall where they may. These districts are lunacy.

This district consist of new Orleans east, westbank and river parishes.

Its definitely rigged to get a minority seat

It extends all the way up to include North BR.

Remember this when gerrymandering comes up: Democrats maintain minority majority districts out of the racist belief that black Americans can only be represented by black Americans.

Not saying that’s the root of gerrymandering everywhere, but check out the Southern states/other states like Michigan or Ohio with pockets of majority black areas and compare to a map of demographics. It’s not 1955 anymore and pretending like it is only serves to further divide the general public.

Damn near every single one of those state has several geographically logical districts, and then a couple that end up looking like a plate of spaghetti because there just has to be a black Congressman.

ETA: Demographics should not be considered at all when drawing districts. Parish/county boundaries, time zones, population/population density, and geographical consistency should be the ONLY factors.

Doesn’t matter. LA-2 is so effectively gerrymandered that it has one of the highest vote disparities of any district in the country. Richmond could easily get 70+% of the vote

It is definetly rigged to limit the spread of black voting power.

And it makes three other districts safe for Republicans. Crunching Blacks into safe districts is great for the nation.

I love the 2nd!

Without it we would have 2 white “moderate” democrats instead of 1 truthful black one.

Works for me.

Run Cedric run!

I have it even thought about it. No real reason to spend much time on it. It's a foregone conclusion.

I"m surprised the love for Schmidt because he has no real chance. Shawndra says exactly where she stands on everything. What's up with all the love for the Noonie Man? Tell me about the Noonie man.

Go Cedric Go!

Man loves him some LSU football and effectively said yes to keeping his district gerrymandered. He knows what the deal is, also he had done one great thing in vouching for Steve Scalise so he has some intgreuty not a lot but some. Does not come off as an absolute idiot which counts lol. Compare him to Maxine Waters or Sheila Jackson Lee or even Frederika Wilson.
