I haven't killed a deer out of a stand in four or five years. I've killed them all on the ground slipping around.

was turned on to stalking to a guy i know who owns a ton of land in MS. it's the only way to deer hunt in my opinion. you see so many more deer, and dont fall asleep for half the hunt. i would only do it on land where i know where every hunter will be.

Killed the biggest buck of my life this way. Slowly ( real slowly ) slipping through the woods. Doe stood up out of a fallen tree top where she was beeded down with a buck. She walked out and he was behind her grunting

The next year was. Doing the same thing and heard a buck grunt. Slipped up and found a doe feeding by a fallen tree top and a buck was laid up in it and would grunt if she fed to far away. I backed out and came back the next morning and killed him.
