I know one of you baws has to have one. Seen some at Academy and read mixed reviews. Anyone here own one?

The triggers take a little getting use to and opening them at first is a little tight. They do shoot and shoot where you are aiming.

pops saw they were on sale at academy for like $429 online, so he's going buy two

probably just going to end up using them for skeet and our yearly pheasant hunt.
20 gauge should work good? no?
don't really have any 20 gauges in the house, all 12s.

I have a 20 gauge and I absolutely love it. I used it for a couple duck and dove hunts in Nicaragua and put several shells through it. Never jammed up on ejects and killed lots of birds. Of course, lead is legal down there.

ETA: It's also a very pretty gun.

I bought my son a 20 and it's a good gun. I've shot it dove hunting and never had an issue.

I know a couple of people who really like Yildiz products especially for the price. I have not done any shooting with one.

Only one I see has a 24" barrel. I think I would want something a little bit longer

Go hold and swing them and see how they feel in your hands...

Yea the shortest I would want would be a 26" honestly in just about any shotgun I am using for hunting purposes. That is just my preference though as my swing gets a little shaky with barrels shorter than that.

I have the 20 and 12 O/U. The guy at Academy laid them all out on the counter so I could choose the best looking wood. The 20 kicks a good bit for ppl I have let borrow it. Never had a problem out of either.

If the 20 is kicking, it is probably your shell selection. No need to shoot high velocity loads...

I have been shooting the 12 gauge O/U for about 5 years now. Mainly for doves, but it has taken a few ducks... It has been a good gun.

As mentioned above have the sales guy lay out what they have in stock and look for the one with the best wood to metal fit. This is where you really see the low cost reflected. It's not going to affect the function, but it may bother you if you have extreme OCD about that kind of shite.... But you can usually find one that's not too bad.

I probably have put about 7-8000 shells through mine with no problems. Keep the ejectors clean and lubricated and you should not have any eject issues.

Also was able to find some Briley choke tubes when I first got it, don't know if they are still available.

I have two of these guns and find them to be extremely durable for the price paid. I bought myself the 12 ga. O/U to shoot sporting clays at oilfield shoots. That gun has recorded at 99 as my best event score. It does kick like a mule though. My advice is to go ahead and pick up a limbsaver with it. You could also put you some small split shot fishing weights in the stock to give you some more weight if you wanted to fool with that. Also, they make some compensation units that you can put in the bolt hole in the stock to help the kick.

I liked mine so much that I bought the 20 ga. O/U for my son and he loves it. He shoots in 4H shoots all the time and does fine with it.

I would recommend the Briley extended choke tubes as well.

I have the 12 O/U... Not a bad gun at all, haven't had any issues with it, and the shell ejectors work great...

Only thing I did was replace the original choke tubes with stainless Yildiz tubes...

think a 20 would do fine for quail and pheasant? I mean, I used to use an 870 youth 20 for ducks, so I don't see why it would be a problem

Damn, you sure did hold out a while for your first post.

I bought an O/U from somebody that sounds a lot like you. He talked about shooting oilfield shoots and shooting a 99. Talked about his son having a Yildiz and liking it... Said that's what he was going to switch to.
