90hp SHO VMAX is something new and interesting!
I'd like to see the #s on that compared to my 2012 F90.

I repowered with the 115hp version, it's a great motor.

Isn't the 115 SHO just a decal package? Same as the regular 115?

It never got leaked. It was a Yamaha dealer show at their private lake

No. According to CARB documents, the regular 115 puts out 108hp in real life where the SHO 115 is in the 120s.

I think its the same motor that calls to be propped up about 500rpm higher than the regular.

It's a different cam and ECU tune pretty much. Otherwise same block and internals. It was a $250 difference when I was purchasing, so it was a no brainer for me.

So what’s the difference between the F115, which was totally redesigned and introduced last year, and the new V MAX SHO 115? Aside from the obvious sporty cowl that takes its graphic design elements from the V MAX SHO 250 you see the top bass pros using, there are a couple of key differences. The major one is the racier cam-shaft design that allows it to reach 300 more rpm and a higher top speed. When Yamaha engineers tested a Skeeter TZX 170 with its 115s, the V MAX SHO 115 was nearly 3 mph faster than the current F115 and almost 4 mph faster than the previous generation F115. The rest of the increased horsepower and top speed comes from different engine mapping in the ECU (the engine’s computer brain). Yamaha’s Shift Dampening System (SDS), which vastly reduces the clunking sound from the force of shifting gears, was introduced in 2011 for the F350 and has slowly worked its way into the four-stroke lineup, and this year it appears on the VF115.

I hear this thing is almost 1,000 pounds with a $30+K price tag.

892# with 25" shaft, will not be a winner for them is my prediction. One wonders if they will self destruct like the f350's did/do.

Yea CFDoc
Never have hidden that fact at all. I was a Yamaha owner long before they sponsored our show.

Did they rock the mic like a vandal or what?

It'd be interesting to read a Yamaha press release regarding the F350 flywheel vs. the new bigger and badder version.
I'm on my third boat in a row with a Yammi on it, but I ain't no fanboy.
They have their issues that are well publicized, but never guilt never admitted. ("just change the flywheel every once in while on your 350")
