Anybody have any good deal websites?

Shimano Cuardo is normally what I fish and I have been buying them from Academy but just wandering if there are any good deal websites out there I should be checking?

You can usually find at least a 10% off coupon code for Tacklewarehouse, sometimes more.

Sign up for emails and google coupons. Between tackle warehouse and tackle direct, you should have decent luck.

They emailed one out not too long ago. Just checked and it expired. They should have one for Memorial Day coming up though. I think they also have a military discount if you qualify.

eBay

Indeed, Ebay usually has the cheapest prices and throw in one of their coupon codes when they pop up and they become even a better deal. I think I paid something like $130 each for my two Curado K models I have.

This is all true and I've bought 5 reels to date off ebay and have saved a ton of money, but you do have to be careful. Make sure it's a reputable seller, preferably an established retailer, and check feedback. I got used to reels being 20-30 bucks cheaper on there and just went with a low price. The seller had good feedback but wasn't a retailer, just a random guy.

Fast forward 5 months and I got an official letter from Bass Pro in Missouri saying I owed them the full retail price of a reel I had bought on ebay. The seller had used my name and shipping info ebay forwarded to him to place an order for full retail and have it drop shipped to me, and paid with a stolen credit card number. That CC reversed the charges a couple months later, so then Bass Pro tried to collect from me. My CC handled it and I didn't have any issues in the long run but ebay was zero help. The troubling part is I almost threw the letter away since I get so much junkmail for rewards programs and store card offers, if I had they potentially could have sent it to collections without me ever knowing and dinged my credit.

TL;DR Ebay is awesome for getting discounted reels but check your seller and pay with something that gives you fraud protection.

I buy all of mine off of Ebay, especially when there's a promo.

These guys are local to me and have always beat everyone's prices on rods and reels. They don't list much on their website but you can call them and place an order that way. Pay no attention to the price on the site for the Curado as Shimano won't allow their retailers to list anything under MAP. A dealer in Boaz lost their Shimano line recently for doing just that.

You think that's bad try living close to them I can't go in that place without spending 100.00 or more. They have a ton of stuff and I have yet to beat their prices on anything. They have a big ebay store as well LINK

Sometimes you can find some gems in pawn shops. I have.

Usually the price marked on it is way too high because the owner knows how expensive high quality reels can be, but oftentimes they've been sitting on them for so long that they'll almost give them away.

I've bought some jam up reels in PS's before that were almost brand new except for the dust collecting on them.
