Where should I launch my kayak on Big Lake?

Hitting the lake on Monday.
Where should I launch? I don't know the lake well enough to strategize the best place to launch for this time of year considering forecasted partly cloudy skies and winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Right now West Cove before the marsh closes on the 15th. Prien Lake is great but it's a little fresh right now. You can't get lost there.

I’m going yak fishing down there Monday and Tuesday.

You can launch them at the blue bird area launch down 27 south of Sulphur.
I've crabbed there several times and they launch a ton of kayaks out of there.

It’s says boats and kayaks can use the canal for access to big lake. Does that mean you can fish the marsh to the south east once you enter calcasieu lake?

If you're talking about West Cove you can not enter the marsh until March 15. You can fish the Cove. The marsh is part of the Sabine refuge and is closed for Migratory Birds.
