Whats your camo setup?

I am not in the top echelon of OB hunters so I'm here to learn. What are y'all wearing? Locally on gulf coast and off in west texas to be specific.
I've got a few piece I pick up on sale here and there, IE pullover, shirt, vest, plenty of hats from events and places. I mostly shoot sporting clays with customers (talk about a good way to expense a hobby) but wind up on friends' land a few times a year.
Is it worth buying Kuiu or Sitka, or is that a fool's errand? I usually just wear a camo vest and and keep a Carhartt barn coat nearby if it gets really cold.

Anything that will break up your shape.

I suppose if I were a guide or hunted every day in cold weather,I might spring for Sitka or other Gucci camo, but I never had a problem, with cheap stuff from Walmart when I was a deer hunter.
Especially on the gulf coast.
My camo for doves, it’s a 20 year old pair of old bdu style camo pants, an OD green Patagonia Tshirt, a $10 redhead game pouch vest and a $10 cabelas hat.
Besides, shooting clays have terrible vision.

I switched everything over to badlands camo recently but still have multiple sets from Dicks Field and Stream brand.

Unless your packing in or hunting mountains where weight is a premium there is no need to spend the money on the premium hunting clothes brands.
I wear some cheap dry fit camoshirts from academy and carhart or dickies green or brown duck pants.
If it’s cold 30-40s a layer of merino wool or under armour base layer with a hooded sweatshirt under a cabelas wooltimet jacket.
20-30s add a vest and the wooltimate pants

I rack up on clearance Mossy Oak stuff from Walmart and Academy every year. Works great.

I have the Sitka Stratus Jacket and Pants.
Yes, they are expensive.
No, I don't believe they render me invisible or provide me with magical hunting prowess.
What they excel at is blocking wind (the biggest comfort killer in S. LA) and keep me warm, all without making me look and feel like the Michelin Man.
You can absolutely be just as warm for much cheaper, but there's no way you could do it with as few pieces of gear. With a decent (under armour) base layer, Im confident I'd be warm in just about any weather down here.
I didn't buy it to be cool (no pun intended), I bought it to be comfortable.

Drake non typical for early season then switch to Sitka for deer hunting.
I’m in the process of switching to straight Sitka for duck hunting in timber.
Sitka is the most dependable company on the market right now. I’m all about wearing the least amount of clothes possible to stay warm. Plus I get the discounted price, so it isn’t as hard on the wallet.

Don't know...I can never find mine.

I have some old realtree scent lock shite. Good friend of mine switched to Sitka and swears by it

I have some First Lite stuff for the week
or so it gets really cold in Alabama.
99% of my camo is Scentlok. Not for scent control but it’s well made camo and they are always having good sales. Some I’ve had 5-6 years and it’s like new.

Sitka jacket
Bunch of Cabelas Berber Fleece
Mossy oak shirts
Camo is for duck and turkey hunting. Deer don’t require camo.

Ive never understood the reason of buying expensive arse camo to sit in a box stand

I don’t have one. I mainly hunt in shooting houses when deer hunting and anything else is bird hunting. I have a couple Mossy Oak break up shirts I wear dove hunting, a camo Columbia polar fleece jacket and a camo Browning rain jacket. My shirts are older green or brown button downs that I’ve rotated out and my pants are Carhartt’s or old tan or brown Mountain Khakis and Kuhls.

The only camo I own is my puffy pants. Everything else is flat dark colors like black or khaki.
For deer hunting you certainly do not need camo, you need to be still.

Trash this for first lite merino or equal and you will be much happier

Anyone looking into buying Sitka or kuiu, I recommend trying skre gear. Great customer service and way cheaper than the competition. I’ve found it to be good quality. Nowhere near the amount of inventory but still good stuff

No doubt, but the outer layers are so good, I haven't had a reason to really change them out yet. But, it will happen in the future.
