What's the deal with OpticsPlanet? UPDATE

I ordered something August 12th and got an update today that it will be October 18th before shipment. It was just a Vortex magnifier.
NEW SHIP DATE: December 14th.
I cancelled my order.

OP is known for that. They'll extend backordered items for months and change the expected date again and again.

They have crappy service in my experience. Ordered two of the same item and it took three weeks to arrive. Open the package and only one is in it. Called customer service and they said the items were shipped separately. They had only emailed one tracking number so I knew that was a lie. Three weeks later the second item arrived.

Only buy it it says in stock ready to ship. Or if it's a good price and you don't care when it comes.

I have ordered a lot of shif from those people over the years and two things come to note from my experience in dealing with them.
A.) I have always received products as ordered. Yes I have had to wait once or twice for backordered items but it made its way to me at some point. They have taken returns with no troubles either.
B.) If you see something offered online and you want it don't click that order button. Call them on the landline as operators have deeper discounts than you can get with a click.

I've only ordered from them once, but had a good experience with them. I had ordered a pair of vortex crossfire binos right after christmas because they were on sale, then literally the next day the diamondbacks went on sale. I emailed them about switching them out, and they had no problem doing it.
Otherwise, I've been a bit skeptical of them. Not sure why, but I am.

I’ve only had good experiences, but have never backordered anything. I’ve found great deals from time to time.

I've only ordered a few items from OP, but I had good service. OTOH, my most recent order a few months ago didn't go well. At the time I ordered a bullet seating die, it was said to be in stock. When I'd not received a tracking number by the shipping date, I emailed them and found out it was now out of stock and the projected new shipping date was couple weeks off. I cancelled the order and bought it elsewhere. I hate it when a company changes the online stock status of an item AFTER you've ordered it. You never know what route to go. I've also placed orders by phone where they told me online stock status was more accurate information than what they had.

screw those people I orders something from them a few years ago they did the same exact thing I swear they are only a broker and ordering crap off eBay
