What’s the best option to kill clovers, weeds, and fertilize my mostly st Augustine yard?

Weed free zone by fertilome.

Best thing I've ever seen for clover.

Don't put 2,4-D on st aug unless it is dormant.

Head over to the Home/Garden board. There are quite a few lawn care threads there.

^ Negatory.

The cocktail posted above is the shiz. The purple bottle of image will knock out all of those weeds. Also.

2,4-D alone will damage st aug.
The 3way products don't because the have a small amt of 2,4-D in them.

Kill the St Augustine and plant more clover. It adds nitrogen to the soil so you don’t need to fertilize, is a pollinator, and it makes great compost. Went clover and all native for my cabin back home (with the exception of some fruit trees).

Clovers will take over if you are low on Nitrogen. Up your N first then use herbicide and it will be much easier to kill. I wiped out my clover in a few weeks but fertilizing with more nitrogen. Had been fighting with them a few years before.

I mixed atrazine, 2,4-D and the spreader sticker with the appropriate amount of water and sprayed my whole yard. All the clover is dying

I sprayed that mixture 2 weeks ago and most of the weeds in my yard have died. I’m going to spray again soon, because after actually measuring the square footage of my yard I realized I didn’t spray enough product.

That mixture is supposed to cover 1000 sq ft of lawn. So, I probably did a half dose on my yard the first time around. At least it was still fairly effective.

My experiences over the last two years contradict your statement. I've used both Image and stand alone 2,4-D with no harm to my St. Aug.

Once temps get above 85*F, it’ll start to burn your grass. But right now it’ll be fine. That mixture is safe for St. Augustine and Centipede grass. Not recommended for Bermuda.

I’m a novice. There are a couple of posters on the HGTV board that are much more knowledgeable than I am. So I’d definitely check out some of the threads on there for more info.

ETA: That recipe card above was given to me by Lastrapes Garden Center in Opelousas, La. If anyone lives around that area I’d highly recommend them. They have been extremely helpful to me with lawn and garden stuff.

Will all this stuff work on henbit? That's my biggest problem right now. Maybe I should just pick it for my salads?

Yes. In fact, that was one of the first things in my yard to shrivel up and die.

I’m ordering that exact 3 mixture recipe on amazon now.

How much sq feet does that recipe cover?
I have a 90 by 180 lot
Also do you want to do this when it won’t rain for a couple of days after application?
