I live on a decent size neighborhood lake. It is loaded with All types of fish. I take the time to put brush piles Out into the water to attract fish. There is a guy that doesn’t live in the neighborhood but knows somebody in the neighborhood that lets him go through their yard to get access. Well I get home Friday and this dude has set up camp in my backyard. I let the dog out and when I came back he had grabbed all of his stuff and was headed out back down the pond. About an hour later my neighbor told me that the guy sat there and caught 18 Sacalaits, some over 2 pounds and put them in his Ice chest and rolled out earlier that morning. He said the guy comes 2 to 3 times a week during the day when nobody’s around.

Call the game warden to make sure he’s legal.

Fishing should be for HOA residents only.

Are you in an HOA? Pretty sure it prohibits it.

If not there's probably not much you can do except for the trespassing part.

ETA: tell your neighbor to cut the shite out

I'd politely let him know right quickly that he's not welcome there, that he'd trespassing, please don't come back. I'd have a conversation with the neighbor, letting him know about the problem. I'd set up some video surveillance.

Second time I'd probably have him receive a visit from a warden. May or may not press charges depending on how the warden says it goes.

Third time press to the hilt.

Get the HOA involved if there is one.

One of the problems is that the bottom 15 ft of lake property is not owned by residents and cannot be fenced off. It’s called community property. Our HOA is full of crap to begin with and now is operated by a company out of town. Im sure the guy has a fishing license and there is nothing in the guidelines about guest fishing in lakes

He is doing y’all a favor by taking out the crappie. Those things are prolific.

usually guests have to be accompanied by owner. Such as pool, a guest can't go swimming at pool without resident present.

I would need the lake coordinates to make recommendation.

If he's on the right-of-way and there's no rules against it there isn't much you can do.

Knowing how most HOAs work they'll probably get pissed at you for putting cover in the pond.

Our HOA has been useless for 10 years now and now the company they have hired is no better. All they are worried about is collecting money.

yeah, its really the residents/board who have to enforce rules. HOA management companies truly don't give a shite, they are administrative people who just does as the HOA wishes.

There’s a sonic down the street. Might have to have a meet and greet over there.

Start keeping bees. That will keep him away from your house at least.

Have you acted completely belligerent and insane yet? shooting your shotgun in the air and hollering at him while running naked in the yard shitting in random places? Most will leave.

If this is where I think it is, I know which pond and neighborhood because it's been posted on a FB page. Expect Todd Masson to do a fishing report there soon with GPS coordinates
