It has no tow hooks and I will need to pull from the front of the truck.

I'd go to the Outdoor Board with this question.

Sit on the hood and hook up to your ball sack.

I don't have a heavy strap. All I have is a chain, and afraid that might damage the bumper as it comes up under it. Maybe place something between the chain and the bumper.

Front or rear end.
Front cross member (not sway bar)

No hooks? I thought all trucks had a hook. Most cars have a screw in hook(well european) , but trucks usually have a hook.

Cross member is strong.

I'd go with that

That won't do anything. The pressure on the chain will.hit the bumper.

Can you pass chain through middle of the bumper?

Or pull from the rear?

You’re going to probably tear some shite up by hooking up a chain underneath.

Pull out the owners manual. I bet it’s got provisions somewhere for hooking up to the front. My car has a removable panel with a threaded hole behind it and there’s an eyebolt in the spare tire compartment. Might be something like that. I keep a shackle in there too in case the hole isn’t big enough for whatever I’ve got.

If you are worried about damaging the bumper just pull the bumper off.
