Shot barnes 127g last year. Need to buy a new box for the season this year. Wondering what other options are good.

Hornady 143 ELD-X seems to be the gold standard for the 6.5 Creed. Never found a 6.5 they didn't shoot great out of.

They shot fantastic out of my gun but I had expansion issues unless I hit something solid like a shoulder. I shoot the 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips now.

Been shooting 129 grain SST had loads for about nine years. They work great I know technology has caught up to the 6.5 and there are more options now but they haven’t done me wrong yet.

Mine shoots the Hornady American Whitetail soft points lights out. I’m probably in the minority, but I like the soft point bullets the best for deer

Can't imagine why anyone would move away from Barnes in a pure hunting bullet. In my experience it is about the best there is for hunting.

I ran Hornady Black 140gr. recently.
Shot an antelope at 315 in 30 mph wind gusts.

Mine had 6 one shot kills with the 143 ELD-X out to about 225. Only one got out of sight and she traveled less than 100 double lunged.

Thanks guys.. just picked up a box of these to try. Was wanting to go to a heavier bullet. Will see how these shoot next week. If accurate they will be heading to kentucky with me in 3 weeks.

I recently harvested a mule deer with the 6.5-300 using the 127 Barnes X. So there’s a velocity difference for which to account. Flies like a dart for sure. At 300 yards the bullet shattered upon impact. No exit wound. Found copper fragments throughout its chest. It piled him up; but, I’ll admit I’m a bit conflicted about the bullets performance.

Lmao. I didn't think you even needed bullets with the creedmoor. I thought just having one meant deer fell down dead.
