Came home yesterday afternoon to a backyard that looked like someone took a 1/4" drill bit and practiced making holes. Some kind of grub or worm? TIA

It’s spring time and robins are digging up your grass for food.

Have the same thing going on in my yard as well. At one time I had over 10 in my yard

I had the same thing yesterday in my yard. If it is robins, we can have a supper at my old man's house.

I don't know man, never tried them.

I was always told that they weren't good when they were on the ground because they were eating worms.

Do you have to shoot them out of the tree to make them taste well?

I have never shot any robins, but the theory was, when they are eating the berries in the tree they taste better than when they are eating worms on the ground. Kind of how dogris taste alright early in the season before they start eating fish.

I’ve shot and ate 100’s of robins as a kid. I never noticed a difference in taste.

How did you cook them? Fried or what?

It doesn’t really matter. Once the st Augustine comes to life it will quickly fix those holes on its own.

Same.

Mom used to make a cornbread dressing with them. Also good in gravy, etc. Pretty sure they aren't legal to kill though if that is something you are concerned about.
