Long story short I ended up in possession of two walk in freezers and rather than haul them to the dump I was going to try and make use of one of them.

I picked up a coal burning stove out of an old train car the other day for a sauna build. Now that I have the freezers I'm thinking the 9x7 freezer would make a perfect sauna

Has anyone ever built one? Im thinking simple cedar paneling on some 1x's for the inside and simple frame for the outside with some leftover wood siding.

Use them as walk in freezers?

Smoke house?

Dry storage?

Insulated dog house?

Small meth lab?

The option are endless.

I've tried to get a few different people with large hunting and fishing camps to take one but they are just too damn expensive to operate.

It would make a good smoke house for someone with a large camp or commercial meat smoking operation. I just can't imagine needing a smoke house large enough to hang entire animals.

Either make a smoke house or if you want a big walk in cooler, buy one of these:

CoolBot

Converts window unit ac to a reefer. Much less costly to maintain.

110 v ac window unit. And a coll bot programmer. Place entire thing inside a metal shop building.

The cost is negligible.

Set up and running for under $500.

You’ll probably want to get a carbon monoxide detector for your sauna.

I've never heard of it but almost $400?

It looks you could just use a $15 Chinese thermocouple controller. You'd have to do a bit more invasive wiring than the coolbot but it shouldn't be too difficult. The linked item is just thermometer controlled relay.

But maybe the coolbot does more than just what I'm understanding.

This was my first thought, as well.

The interior room would give an awful lot of space to cure an awful lot of protein
