Is it actually a good deal/brand or is it just a total POS?

You really don’t need anything but a single shot 410 and TSS

It’s cheaper, it’s lighter, it’s lethal out to 45yrds if choked appropriately.Maybe more
And kids can shoot it.

I won one at a DU banquet in a raffle. I actually thought it was a Beretta Extrema so I dumped $200 worth of tickets into the container. Needless to say I was a little disappointed but the gun retails for about $500 so I guess I did ok.

It is also not a Beretta, not even in the same league as an Outlander. It just feels kinda cheap and yes, it jams. I wouldn’t recommend.

I own a tristar raptor in 20ga and I’ve never had a problem with it. Real nice rabbit gun. I can’t speak on the viper, but the raptors are great for the money

More like gospel.... get a single shot 12 NE gun and spray paint it. You gonna carry it more than you gonna shoot it.

Glad to see this.

I have an old Mossberg bolt action .410 so it looks like it can live a new life.

The only thing about a .410 and choking it for turkeys is you don't have a lot of pellets compared to a 20. in order to have a decent pattern at 40 with a .410 you are gonna be softball-sized at 15-20 yds with most of the commonly-used choke constrictions. That's a recipe for misses with children.

This....to some degree. I stopped shooting my 12 years ago and went to a 20 once I discovered TSS. In fact, the 20 I've been using is Charles Daley youth model Field Grade gun that never cycles the next shell into the chamber. Since I've been shooting TSS, I haven't needed a second shot. Not to say that day isn't coming, but so far, so good.

I would be careful purchasing any cheap semi-auto.

I agree. I haven't used a 12 ga in several years. I killed 2 this year. One with my 1187 youth 20ga and one with my kids Stevens 301 turkey .410
I saw the Stevens 301 in 20ga on Buds guns last night for right around $200 I think.

Love it. It's light and shoots great. I put a vortex viper on mine. Out to 35yds with federal tss and factory choke it shoots nice!

Awesome. I have a 12ga turkey gun rigged out i hunt with. Was just going to get one of the stevens 410s to mess around with and take sometimes with tss. Plus would be great starter for my 3 year old in a few yrs

I bought the Stevens .410 for my 4 year old when he’s ready. I took it out myself for the end of turkey season, I love that gun

I prob should have went with the Stevens single shot as well, but I bought by boy the Tristar Viper 410 and put a TruGlo and a Jebs choke. With Apex Ninja it’s a bad little rig. The single shot is just a bit safer and more reliable IMO
