Toledo Bend Water Sale

Anyone know more on this? It can't be good for the future of the water level.

At our camp near circle drive(South of Logansport) the only water that is there is the Sabine river and 2 creeks back to the boat row/launch. There is word around there that the north end of the lake won't get water for 5-10 years.

We are just above mid-lake and we are bone dry at the camp.

Once things get back to normal, it's a good idea. The SRA needs money. I'd like to see improvements to their facilities.

Don't they have guideines in place now to protect the water level?

My BIL said yesterday it was up 2 ft.

I think so. People move to a power plant lake and then decide they don't like it. As bad as moving into a house 225 yards from the tee on the right on a golf course and complaining about balls in the yard.

What river feeds the lake? Sabine?

Has it ever been this low?

The fishing must be better/easier with it low?

In theory, yes. problem is, if you know the lake, you tend to want to fish old spots. Well, those are not spots anymore. They are islands

It is literally like being dropped onto a new and unfamiliar lake.

I thought that after I posted. The brush piles that have been sunk are probably no longer at the right depth to hold fish.

This is a really stupid statement.

Letting water naturally flow into the Gulf is not wasting it as Mr. Bollinger implied.

Depends on your perspective I suppose. There is a market for it. They are giving it to the Gulf for free.

What if pumping water from TB has a negative impact on the Gulf and the marshes of southwest Louisiana?

I do not entertain hypotheticals-the world as it is is vexing enough.

we are relatively new to the lake so it being down has helped us LEARN the area. I can also now see every stump I've hit in the past
