Tire Mileage Expectations

I was checking the wear on my truck tires, they're Firestone.

I have about 35,000 on them and may get another 5,000. They are rated for 60,000.

What is your experience?

Mud tires on 3/4 ton trucks anywhere from 40k to 50k but I’m usually closer to 40 maybe 45.

Haven’t driven a 1/2 ton in 17 years but I would imagine you’d get better.

What kinda tire?

Depends if you got BFG goodwrich all terrain or if you got some froyos. Either way you’re looking at around 350 miles per tire per year for 3-50 years.

Yep, I’m on my third set of Nitto trail grapplers on an F250. I get right at 50k.

These are my Falken Wildpeak AT3 on my F150. Rated for I think 60k, and have 52k on them.

Firestone, is a softer tire and I never got that many miles out of one.

Michelin tires, I can get around or over 100,000 miles if I rotate them every 10,000 miles. They are a harder tire.

I’m on my second set of BFG AT2. Got 80K out of the first set.

Just got rid of a set of Firestone transforce ATs at 62k miles on a 3/4 ton dodge. They were at the wear bars. Decently cared for. I feel like anything after 60k miles on all terrain tires is bonus time.

It’s been all over the place for me, I got 40k on a set of Cooper discoverers on an old Silverado and they really needed to be replaced when I got rid of the truck. I have 90k on a set of toyo open country RTs right now and they look like they have a lot of life left. I have open country MTs before this and they wore faster, I guess there was 50k or so on that set.

I typically get 50k+ out of a set on a half ton. Best so far was 70k on LT 10-ply Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I don’t get how y’all get so many miles from a set of tires. Best yet is current set: Firestone MT2 on a Tacoma, 45,300+/-.

90k? Dirt roads?
I can’t imagine they hold up that long on Louisiana highways. Damn! I have not been that fortunate.

I've not had a set of tires wear out in ages, but do have to replace them due to dry rot issues. I don't really put many miles on my truck-----a bit less than 5K a year, so the heat takes a toll on them, especially the sidewalls.

Now, on my motorcycle, I'm lucky to get 10K out of a back tire and usually around 20K on a front tire before replacement is needed.

Pretty much all concrete and asphalt. I’ve had some pretty bad front end issues too which I thought might’ve hurt them. They just keep going, I’m shocked too. They’ll definitely have dry rot issues before I hit the wear bars at this pace.

I've had several sets of BFG K/O2's and I always got minimum 50k mostly highway miles. I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2020 Sierra now and they are much more aggressive than what I wanted but I couldn't get BFG A/T's at the time. They are loud as hell at 30-35mph but smooth out past 40 mph. I've put about 10k miles on them and they still look brand new.

I got I think 88k out of my last set of Cooper AT3. Can't remember how many the current set has on them. I think close to 60 and I expect them to get through next fall/winter hunting at least.
