This may be a very dumb idea but curious if anyone has tried it ( bow setup)

I have deer coming into my bow set up and its a bachelor group of bucks. I don't like it because its 4 sets of eyes that can catch movement when I draw my bow back. I was flipping throw cam pics and noticed how much the bucks were looking at the new stand I hung. Im sure they will be use to it in a few weeks but I started thinking. What if I hung a piece of green cloth, or old camo shirt in the stand. When the wind blows it will move and might even have a little of my scent on it. Could they get use to the movement and scent and allow me a better change at getting drawn on them?

Tell me if this is the stupidest idea ever

just throw up a solar operated robot wearing camo that pulls his bow back every 15 minutes. Put a cigarette in his mouth and few open beer bottles for kicks.

Nah, I've heard of guys leaving dirty socks on their stand before season.

The funniest was a guy who hung a manikin head by a string and swivel connected to an eye bolt screwed in the top of its head at window height in a box stand. The wind would blow it around and make it rotate.

It's not dumb. If you go dig around on archerytalk.com there are threads about this exact kind of thing. And plenty of people saying it works.

It’s not a bad idea at all

I remember seeing an inflatable hunter for sale in one of the hunting magazines a long time ago. You blow him up and put him in the stand when you’re not there so the deer are used to a body always being there.

I’m not saying I’d do it to all my stands or at all, but if there was one deer I was hunting that I HAD to kill, it could be one of those small things that could ultimately make a difference

Years ago I remember reading an article either online or in a magazine that said something about hanging an empty paint can by a string in a box stand and letting the wind blow it around. It’s about the size of a human head. I only hunt in climbers so I’ve never tried it. Seemed like it could work though.

If it's a box stand, yes you can hang items as mentioned and i've always heard that hanging a basketball or soccer ball on string is really effective. If it's a ladder stand, just wrap it in the burlap like material sold at Academy.

hang another stand the day you hunt and shoot them while they are looking at the old stand

If they’re still coming, it didn’t spook them. What type stand setup is it?

Millenium lockon. Wish I had brought another section of sticks for the ladder because its only about 16' up.

Pics show deer coming in from the east on evening hunts headed to a white oak flat. They come in from the west pre dawn headed to the bedding area. Plan to hunt it on evenings with an east wind
