Thinking about getting new prop - Now hub issue

Made the switch back to a bass boat last year. Baby Ranger with a 150 Opti. 1,400 lb hull. It's got a 21 Tempest now. Two things are bothering me: porpoising and sliding turns. Well, plus it seems like I could easily run more pitch.
On the porpoising, I am working on engine height. I think the previous owner had it too low. I am just concerned I may not be doing the whole level pad measurement correctly. Anyway, I was thinking maybe a 4 blade Trophy Plus would help?
So the prop selector said Trophy Plus for better handling at either 23/24 pitch. Does that sound right?
Any good sources of used props in La?

I have a 25p off dads boat you can have if you can pickup. I run a rev four on Kenner and love it. That’s alotta pitch on a four blade.

Thanks, but I have seen nothing to suggest I could realistically run a 25. I wish the Fury 4 came in 23.

Odds of you finding used and it working are going to be slim. Found mine used but it’s a very popular merc prop, looking for a 21p now. Are you using the merc selection guide?

Yes, I used it.
There are a bunch on eBay that look pretty good.

I run a 23 Trophy on my 186 Triton with a Merc150, I also have a Tempest 23. Both props are good on RPMs topside with the Tempest giving a little more speed. I run the Trophy because it is a lot less trim sensitive, with the Tempest I’m constantly on the trim to keep lift or stop porpoising when changing speeds.
Prop to pad on my is 3-1/2” on a 6 inch plate but boat are different. Raise it up until you lose water pressure or start blowing out. Higher is better. Topside RPMs will tell you what pitch you need then adjust PVS plugs to get the spin up on holeshot

Where you at? You can run this Tempest awhile just to see, I keep it in the boat as a spare

I'm in Ellic. I really want to run a 4 blade.

I have a ranger 118 with 150 optimax. I have two talons on it. It was heavy so it took forever to get on plane with a tournament load. I switched to a 4 blade and love it. On goes about 55mph but I don’t care about top end

I believe it’s a 22p trophy if I’m not mistaken.
It jumps out of the hole now, only issue is if it’s just me and live well empty, low gas, it will produce too many rpms if you try to trim it out for max speed. However, I never really go max speed.

I run a fury on my triton. Swapped from a 25p tempest to a 26p fury. Lost some hole shot but picked up way more mid range. Also ran a 25 turbo 4 blade. Probably the best all around prop I have. But in your situation you can’t go wrong with a tempest. I’m thinking a 24p about 2 inches below the pad should get you close. Bass boat central has a board full of setup options that may could help you.

Try a whale fin before changing the propellor.

Worked perfectly on my dad’s boat.
