Book on Eastern Wild Turkey hunting in the South.

It’s great if you’re a southern hunter. Highly recommended

If you consider yourself to be a turkey hunter….not just a person who sits in a blind on a food plot or reaps gobblers, it’s a must read.

I was fortunate enough to hunt with Kelly about three years ago. Even at his age he was still sharp minded as ever. Prior to the hunt I had done several interviews with him and absolutely loved his thoughts on everything from calling to decoys.

If it weren’t for a man from Monroe named Sherman Shaw, the book would have never seen the light of day beyond serving as Christmas presents for the Colonel.

Again, it’s a must read if you want to become a complete turkey hunter.

I have an entire set of turkey hunting books, including an anniversary edition of Tenth Legion and a signed copy of Ken Morgan's One Man Game (another great turkey book). I almost hate to sell them, but I quit turkey "hunting" because I'd rather spend time fishing with my son that sitting in the woods getting outsmarted by a bird...

I don't know what you were looking to spend or what they are going for online, but I'd be willing to part with my copy--especially if it's going to someone that would appreciate it as much as I once did.

Have a few other Turkey hunting books if anyone would be interested. The best one is probably One Man Game, but I have the coffee table book Ken's wife put out, McIlhenny's book, and a few others as well. It's not a collection I've tried to sell because other than Old Gobbler, I don't know where else I'd sell it and hit the right audience.

I lost my copy in Katrina, haven't read it in years and would love to have my kids read it as they get hooked on the sport. I have no idea what market value is but I would be interested in it. drjeff at lafamilyeyecare dot com

You can always just loan it to him lol

I found a signed copy on ebay a few years ago for $20

@Loup, if you're interested, I will mail it to you if you will send it back when you're done. Shoot me an email at mylsuhat at gmail dot com

I appreciate the offer. The main reason I want to buy a copy is so I can give it to my dad after I'm done reading it. Just stumbled upon Tom Kelly's website, ordered a hardcover for 30 bucks.

tomkellyinc.net

Ebay ranges from $50 to $1300. I wouldn't mind spending the 50 if it's going to Tom Kelly but not used.

I'll shoot you an e-mail later this morning, but I'd let it go for $30 (shipping included, if necessary). Sounds like that's fair value for it...lol!

Plus, It's just sitting on my book shelf collecting dust and taking up space that could be used for other books...

Reading the Colonel's book on Kindle just doesn't seem right...

That book has always given me campfire light with a glass of whiskey vibes.

I made sure at NWTF a few years ago to buy a hardcopy and have Tom Kelly sign it. He won’t be with us too much longer I am afraid.
