PA is bigger, heavier, more stable, and has horizontal rod holders built into the hull. But its higher profile catches more wind so it can be a bit of a pain fighting those windy days. Outback has better steering and is easier to paddle.

Probably best to demo before you buy if you’re on the fence. I know Massey’s does demo days at Bayou St John about once every month or 2. Everything Kayak in Gulfport has a big pool inside their shop where you can demo anytime

Any of you guys ever deer hunt using your kayak to get to your spot? If so, how was the haul out? I have a compass that I'm thinking about doing it with.

Does anyone want some old marine mat off cuts and accent pieces? It was set up for a hobie compass but I am out of the kayak game.

Can anyone recommend a good spot for redfish with an easy paddle? Reggio was my go to because of the abundance of fish and such an easy paddle but last I heard they were closed to the public now.

PAC right by the launch. Just avoid going up the main channel because of the current.

Depends on your definition of easy paddle.

You can launch at Pip's and its about 2 miles to get to the other side of Lake Ameda and then you're basically at the eastern end of Reggio. Bunch of winding bayous and ponds once you get there.

Or if by "easy paddle" you want to be able to still see your truck while fishing...Grand Bayou Rd in Port Sulphur. But that area is almost all shallow, so might want to avoid on the back end of a cold front blowing all the water our.

Is there anywhere to park around the Yscloskey bridge?

Just the shoulder of the road. But I don't think there's a decent spot to combat launch. Lots of rocks and bulkheads.

Has anybody made it down to hwy 1 to roadside of combat launch say snake pit or forbidden hole?
Just curious about the construction, seen a video saying they were running underground utilities to the island but wasn’t sure which side of the highway they were doing it on?

I’ve made a couple trip to PAC and Dulac and over the last couple weeks and also hit Prien Sunday been tough to find the trout in numbers
Reds have been around the normal spots but this time of yr it’s about them specs!

A friend of mine fished roadside recently but didn't mention anything about issues with construction, did decently, a few reds and about a dozen trout.

Has anyone had a chance to demo, or does anyone own the Bonafide P127? If so how do you like it? I still have my eye on that thing and would love to get one. That price tag keeps me procrastinating.

off subject but when I kayak or canoe I been having thinking about finding a little tow behind for my dog. 120lb he fits on my kayak but he isn't comfortable and he strains a lot the whole trip and probably isn't having as much fun as if he had his own little mini boat. I'm thinking about building a little platform with foam and fiberglass kind of like a paddle board but wider and shorter but is there anything that I can buy or that is made? Don't really want to get him a inflatable and only go out maybe 2-3x a year. But it's a pia getting him back in every time he decides he wants to swim. Prob go more if I have a small tow behind that I can hook him to. I would go much more if he could come and be easier knowing I wasn't going to be swimming a ton with him Everytime he bails and then wants back on

You don't have to come to all of them. The first one is a bag exchange at PAC like we did at Cocodrie. The one at Big Lake you can fish anywhere in Calcasieu or Cameron and the weigh in is at Prien.
