Just thought I would say hi. I’ve been fishing out of a Perception Prism since early 2000s. I’ve been looking at new kayaks and I’m amazed how much they’ve changed.
Any thoughts on the Pescador Pro 12? Or recommendations on a yak for the Pontch/Gulf?

Yes they are very wide and super stable. I do like them.

Anyone fished out of a Blue Sky Boatworks kayak?

Man has this thread died..... Anyway, looking to try somewhere new this Saturday. Can anyone chime in about Catfish Lake and Bason's? I know there probably won't be trout there but wouldn't mind chasing some reds.

Out of basons you shouldn’t have any issues getting a limit of reds. Find ponds with decent grass and you’ll find the jackpot

I think that's where I'm going. Always look forward to trying somewhere new.

When I got my first kayak 3 years ago I came to this thread and learned a ton of great info.
So let's keep it going.
My first yak was an Emotion Stealth Pro Angler. It's a great boat for the money. Stable, fishing designed, and lots of smart features. But it wasn't quite what I wanted once I'd used it for about a year.
I wanted more in hull storage, a nicer seat, and just overall better kayak. 2 months ago I stumbles on a Jackson Coosa HD being sold brand new, still in the shipping material, for $1000!
I jumped on it and never looked back. This boat was my dream kayak and I've taken it our almost every week since I got it.
I'm in Houston so I can't help with fishing location recommendations for most on this board, but if you're in H-Town, I have some good places to suggest.

Hi I’m new to the group as well. My brother let me take his Hobie PA 14 out and I’m hooked. Saving now for my kayak. Been watching nonstop videos and doing my homework on transportation and storage. Hope to get my 360 by February

New ICast release today, the Bonafide P127. When Bonafide merged with Native two years ago, I think we all knew this was coming at some point. The Native Propel drive dropped into a Bonafide kayak.

Definitely going to have to demo one of those when Pack and Paddle get some in. I really like the looks of the Bonafide kayaks and the Propel drive is super solid so it's a great combo. Like the power pole mount on the front too. Any idea of price point or still too early?

MSRP $2,999 according to their website.

Any possibility of a smaller one?

Does that make the Slayer Max obsolete? They look just alike.

No clue. I know they recently started producing the Slayer Max 10.

Electronics setup is a little better in the Slayer Max it seems. The rear tank well has much more room on the Max also. But the Slayer Max 12.5 has a few issues with it that I think could be improved...if they made those improvements on this boat then...it's intriguing.
They are trying their hardest to push the fact that the two brands are separate and have separate identities. But the more and more parts sharing and color sharing etc they do to streamline their process, the more the two brands are going to start running together IMO

And still no dual steering huh? Being left-handed that's a deal-breaker for me.

I manage to get tangled up on the crap I keep behind me, let alone a 8' power pole sticking up in front of me

Yeah i'm not into the front power pole mount at all
, but gives you a place to mount trolling motors and other accessories which is nice.
