Drawing started today, and I already lucked out and snagged an E-Postcard Waterfowl hunt at Nannie Stringfellow WMA.

Hoping to land a Turkey in Palo Duro and a deer in Caprock Canyons, but I've got my name in pretty much everything.

Too busy with young kids.

There’s a few hunts I really want to do:
-Matagorda Island deer or duck hunt
-chapparal deer hunt
-powderhorn cast and blast

shite no. I didn’t have any applications in for this draw but I’m 0-20 or so this year so far after going 0-31 last year.

I have a few in the 10/15 deadline and the 11/1 deadline, so not quite done yet

My son drew youth hunt at powderhorn.

Can shoot 1 whitetail buck, 1 whitetail doe, 1 axis doe or buck, 1 sambar deer doe or buck and unlimited pigs. Dont give a shite about pigs. But sambar will be cool. 4 deer maybe? Gonna bring plenty of ice chests.

is it an easy process. My wife's family has a ranch in Ft Mckavett I could use as a jumping off point. I was recently buying my out of state lic and saw all the lottery options.

What is a E-postcard hunt if you don't mind me asking???

As easy as it gets. All you have to do is get a Texas annual public hunt pass and apply for the hunts.

E-postcard hunts are simple draw hunts that cost nothing. Some of the other hunts cost $3 or $10 to enter, then can be anywhere between $80-$130 for the actual tag if you get drawn.

E-postcard hunts costs nothing to enter and cost nothing if drawn for the tag.

All require you to purchase the annual public hunt pass though.

Man, I kept putting it off this year and never got registered. I actually won a hunt last year on the WMA down by Corpus, where they have nilgai. I was sittin on the toilet on September 10th browsing on my phone and decided to check the hunts. I saw that I had won, and then I saw the deadline to register/confirm the hunt was September 9th!! Frick.

Eta: the pronghorn hunt in the panhandle is one I'd love to win. I'm damn sure never gonna pay $5k to go shoot a goat.
