Youngest son has been on Lake Hamilton with his grandparents for spring break. They went fishing today and he caught a couple of stripers. They’ve cleaned them and he is insisting we cook them when he gets back. I’ve never cooked any. They any good to eat? If so, how to prepare them?

Your in the South, if we can catch it, kill it or grow it, we fry it.

You'll like them fried as long as you cut out ALL of the red meat. Leave one little strip of it in there and you'll know it!

Most the time we find green lights on piers and throw rattle traps, crank baits, spinner baits

They used a spoon yesterday

Marinate in Crystal Hotsauce and Frency's Yellow Mustard overnight. Cut out all of the red blood line first. Then fry that sucker up in chunks.

As a kid I caught Striper/Hybrid chasing the schools around as they broke into shad. Good times.

At night I would sleep in my boat with a few tightlines baited with bluegill at 15-20 feet. Drag going off with the clicker on makes a hell of an alarm clock.
